During his Quakecon keynote, id Software's John Carmack revealed that Rage will look worse on Microsoft's Xbox 360 console due to compression. Interestingly enough, it isn't a graphics limitation id is running into, instead they're limited to the amount of content they can fit on two DVDs. Carmack stated that adding a third disc to the game wouldn't be feasible due to added licensing expenses.
With its Blu-ray disc drive, Sony's Playstation 3 console shouldn't have the same issue.
