The Chinese online games market continues to grow. The aggregate revenue total from the leading providers grew about 66 percent for the second quarter.
According to the latest data from the researchers at Analysys International (via Digitimes), China's online gaming market generated 4.43 billion yuan (about $645 million) during the second quarter of 2008. This represents an increase of 11.2 percent on a quarter basis and 65.9 percent year-on-year.
Shanda grabbed the biggest share of the market with 17.9 percent, followed by NetEase (12.8 percent) and Giant (11.4 percent). The leading providers in Q2 were as follows:
