DigiTimes is reporting that Intel is planning to roll out a slew of new CPUs, as well as additional price cuts coming early next quarter. Up first though are the new CPUs.
According to DigiTimes sources, Intel plans to introduce a new entry-level 45-nm quad-core offering later this month, the Core 2 Quad E8200. The chip is expected to run at 2.33GHz with 6MB of L2 cache and will be priced at $224.
For the value space, Intel will offer the dual-core Pentium E5200 clocked at 2.5GHz and priced at $84. Finally Intel will also launch a new Celeron 450 CPU at 2.2GHz which will sell for $53.
DigiTimes believes we'll see price cuts for the Q6600 and the Q8200. The Q6600 will reportedly see a $10 reduction, going from $193 to $183, while the E8200 will see its price reduced to $203. Finally, the Core 2 Duo E7300 will drop to $113 (from $133). Intel will also offer cuts for select Pentium models in October as well.
DigiTimes is still sticking with their pricing for Core i7 (previously Nehalem). They believe the 3.2GHz Extreme Edition CPU will sell for $999, while the 2.93GHz chip will be priced at $562 and the entry-level 2.66GHz CPU selling for $284.
