Saints Row 2 - Contents of European Collector's Edition

Earlier today THQ announced what European gamers will be able to get their grubby hands all over within the Saints Row 2 Collector's Edition. While most CE's of games usually give you a bunch of stuff you don't care about, THQ is making sure it's customers are well protected and packing heat like Lil' Wayne. While it's not a real gun, the game and all of its contents will come packaged within a gun case featuring a Saints Row 2 themed 9mm. Packed with the case will be a 1GB USB stick in the shape of a bullet, some posters, an artbook, and exclusive content only available to those that buy the special edition.

If you're a Playstation 3 owner who is jumping up and down at the announcement of this Collector's Edition, I think you should sit down because you're only making yourself look stupid. The CE is only being packaged and sold for the Xbox 360. 

Obviously it's a bit difficult to fit a DVD inside a Beretta, but judging by the picture of the Xbox 360 version (see below), the idea is that the box is like a gun mounted in a frame, and the disc lives somewhere behind the veneer.

It's not alone, either, with a 1GB USB key in the shape of a golden bullet to keep it company, along with a 3rd Street Saints poster (a woman blowing the smoke away from the barrel of her man's gun) and a map of Stilwater, the game's sandbox location.

If you're more of a thinker than a brute, there's even an exclusive limited edition artbook so you can admire developer Volition's hustle, and particularly devoted consumers can also take advantage of exclusive content "including buddy icons and wallpapers". -- EuroGamer

Let's face it, everyone loves guns. Sure they kill people and are generally bad news for anyone on the receiving end of them, but that doesn't make them any less awesome. With that said, I think it's safe to say that this Collector's Edition will probably not be the one sold in North America. I'm going to say that it will more than likely have all the same stuff, with the exception of the gun in the box. That thing is a powder keg of hysteria just waiting to happen.
