Apple introduces new iPods, headphones

today Apple introduced their fourth generation iPod Nano.

 

As expected, today Apple introduced their fourth generation iPod Nano, sporting a longer display with a more pocket-friendly slimmer design. The new Nano ships in 8GB and 16GB capacities with nine different colors available and is priced at $149 and $199 respectively. Battery life is 24 hours for music and 4 hours for video. Sales will begin this weekend.

 

Apple also announced that TV shows from NBC will be coming back to iTunes this season. HD shows will sell for $2.99 while standard definition will sell for $1.99. Today Apple is also introducing iTunes 8 software with Genius support. Genius is designed to make music recommendations based on your favorite artists, and can even setup custom playlists based on your favorite songs.

 

Finally Apple also introduced a new 2G iPod Touch with a thinner chassis, built-in volume controls, speaker, and Nike+ receiver. Prices for the 2G iPod Touch are $229 for the 8GB model, 16GB for $299, and $399 for the 32GB SKU.

 

Both the new 2G iPod Touch and 4G iPod Nano include Genius support.

 

Finally, Apple also introduced new headphones that boast improved audio thanks to the integration of a dedicated woofer and tweeter. Three earbuds are also bundled with the new headphones, which will ship in October and are priced at $79.
