AMD's first 45-nm Shanghai CPUs for servers are on track for a Q4'2008 introduction. News.com spoke with AMD's GM of the server/workstation business, Pat Patla. Patla states that Shaghai is in "full production right now in the factory", and will run 20% faster than Barcelona clock-for-clock due to IPC improvements AMD has integrated into the processor.
With Shanghai still on track for a Q4 introduction, this is a good sign for Deneb, which should hopefully also be launching later this year.
