AMD has announced that the Dept of Justice has closed its investigation into allegations that ATI and NVIDIA conspired to fix GPU prices:
Sunnyvale, Calif. -- October 13, 2008 --On October 10, 2008, the U.S. Department of Justice informed AMD [NYSE: AMD] and ATI Technologies that it has closed its investigation into ATI Technologies’ pricing and marketing practices in the sale of graphics processing units (“GPUs”). While NVIDIA hasn't announced anything regarding the DoJ investigation, this News.com article mentions that NVIDIA was also informed on Friday that the investigation has been closed.
