Rumor: Rock Band 2 to Get Country Music Tracks as DLC

Country music may be coming to Rock Band 2 as DLC, according to a clip from a recent video of CMT Insider.

The short video in question talks of the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band 2 bundle hitting store shelves this week. The clip's narrator tells CMT Insider viewers that "in December, Rock Band 2 will have select country tracks available to download." No word yet about exactly which country tracks will hit the Rock Band Music Store. To see the clip in its entirety, head on over to CMT.

Harmonix hasn't confirmed that the CMT Insider information is true, instead opting to post a response on the official Rock Band forums with the standard PR non committal response.

"As with any announcement/advertisement/rumor/'leak' that comes from anywhere other than these forums, please don't get all worked up about something unless it's officially been announced by HMX. Until then it's safe to say that anything else you hear should be taken with a grain of salt... We'll have country in Rock Band sooner or later. Ideally we'll have all the various sub genres that people are clamoring for (hardcore punk, goth, ska, etc) eventually.
