Buy Gears of War 2 At Circuit City, Get $20 in Microsoft Points Free

With Gears of War 2 all ready to hit store shelves at the end of this week, we’re guessing a lot of the fans have already preordered by this point. But if you’re like me, you might be holding out until the last possible moment, waiting for the best deal you can find. Well, I think I just found it.

Despite reported trouble leading to a number of store closings soon, retail chain Circuit City is running a fantastic deal where you can preorder Gears of War 2 and receive a free 1600 Point Xbox Live card. For those who use a lot of Microsoft Points for Xbox Live Arcade games, Rock Band track downloads, or whatever else, that’s basically a free $20 for dropping the $60 for Gears 2. 1UP executive editor Garnett Lee suggests spending the points on Gears of War 2 themes and gamer pic packs, possibly followed by a round of sobbing at how empty your life is. I’m in!

The only downside is that you need to call them or go to a Circuit City in person to preorder -- no simple clicking around online, sadly. Still, if 1UP’s review is anything to go by, it’s probably worth a few moments of interaction with another human to nab the game with such a nice bonus.
