AMD announced they will be laying off 500 more employees in addition to the 1,600 people they let go earlier this year.
With their losses mounting, AMD was already in a difficult position before the economy took a dive. The company has committed to improving their financials though and in order to get there they've announced they will be laying off 500 more employees in addition to the 1,600 people they let go earlier this year. "The headcount reduction is part of the company's efforts to reduce our cost structure," spokesman Michael Silverman said in an e-mail. "We are examining all of our activities to make certain that each supports our objectives, and stop those activities that don't."
