Vancouver-based developer Blue Castle is at work on the heavily rumored sequel to Dead Rising, according to a leak from Eurogamer. Reportedly, a source close to the developer has slipped word that Capcom handed them the reigns to Dead Rising 2, as rumors have suggested since last year. "Everyone's really excited," the source said. "The team has obviously seen the rumors and it's been hard to keep quiet, but they can't wait to show off the game."
Blue Castle is probably best known for its Major League Baseball game The Bigs, which received a positive reception. Currently the company lists three games in development, including one unannounced action title. If this rumor pans out, we'll have to see how the developer makes the transition to such a different genre. At least we know they've gotten down the bat-swinging animations; no Dead Rising sequel would be complete without it.
