Circuit City files for bankruptcy

A week after announcing plans to close 155 stores, today consumer electronics retailer Circuit City filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from its creditors which include names such as Hewlett Packard, Samsung, and Sony. The company will continue to operate during the proceedings, with one analyst predicting you'll see a flood of discounted goods hitting the market from Circuit City's closing stores.
