The Taiwanese company will continue its support of the Southeast Asian region with the help of a new Seattle subsidiary.

Epic Games China announced today the opening of Titan Studios. This Seattle-based subsidiary is designed to use Unreal Engine 3 for original titles and support partners using Epic Games China's outsourcing services. Titan Studios is currently working on multiple Unreal Engine 3-based projects, including an MMO. Titan's first project is called Fat Princess; the game was announced for PSN during Sony's keynote at E3 earlier this year.

"We are recruiting highly talented and hard working developers, and giving them the resources they need to be successful," said Paul Meegan, CEO of Epic Games China. "We believe in creating small, cohesive teams that leverage Unreal Engine 3, our production talent in Asia, as well as our Asian and Western design sensibilities and market awareness."

"Titan Studios offers a way for intellectual property owners to leverage Unreal Engine 3 and Epic Games China's full suite of game development services," said Jay Wilbur, vice president of Epic Games, Inc. "Not only are Titan developing award-winning, original IP of their own, they also have resources available to help other studios increase productivity and minimize risk."
