Electronic Arts announced today that it's preparing to launch Skate 2 on January 21 in North America (January 23 worldwide). In development for Xbox 360 and PS3 at Vancouver-based Black Box, Skate 2 is set in the city of New San Vanelona, which has been rebuilt after a disaster. Players will try to rebuild their career and revive the skate scene in the city. The game offers new tricks and players can now get off-board and move objects around, and create their own epic spots and challenges, which can then be uploaded and shared with others around the world.
To help build buzz for the title, EA also announced that it's setting up a Graphics Creator next month. This web-based customization tool found at www.skate.ea.com will enable Skate 2 fans to create custom graphics for their in-game hats, decks and shirts, "infusing their skateboarding experience with an unrivaled level of individuality."
Furthermore, those who pre-order Skate 2 in North America will gain an exclusive code to unlock a Throwback Pack in the game. This downloadable content includes retro clothing, accessories and gestures.
