NVIDIA preparing Atom-based chipset for netbooks

According to DigiTimes NVIDIA is puttiing the finishing touches on an adaptation of their MCP 79 chipset for Atom platform.
Intel's Atom-based netbooks are highly popular thanks to their low cost, long battery life, small form factor, and attractive price. One thing they can't do very well however is graphics. That may be changing soon though if DigiTimes is correct. According to the site NVIDIA is putting the finishing touches on an adaptation of their MCP79 chipset for the Atom platform. The single-chip MCP79 is already being used today in notebooks from Apple, as well as NVIDIA's line of GeForce 9300/9400 motherboards.
