Mythic Details Warhammer Online Holiday Event

Everybody knows that the annual Feast of Winter’s Veil kicked off just this morning in World of Warcraft, but what about that other popular fantasy MMORPG? Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is also gearing up for their first holiday season with a festive in-game event in the form of Keg End -- a booze-and-explosion-filled celebration of the Dwarven New Year. Get ready for the virtual hangover of your life, because this party gets started Wednesday, December 17, and doesn’t stop until January 5.

If digital beer and fireworks aren’t enough to keep you in the holiday spirit for three weeks, there should also be plenty of drunken brawling going on. Ogres and Snotlings will be invading several Warhammer locales, and slaughtering them can reap exclusive rewards -- including a rare beer keg backpack, a device that teleports you to a city pub, and the in-game title of "The Drunkard." The ultimate goal of the festival appears to be obtaining the fabled Golden Stein, which apparently grants players the blessings of Grimnir, the Dwarven Ancestor God. We’ll go ahead and assume that’s pretty cool, even if we’re not sure what it means.
