It started with Halo and it ends with Halo: The final Holiday Deal of the Week on the Xbox Live Marketplace has been announced by Microsoft and it’s a price slash on Halo: Combat Evolved from 1,200 points ($15) to 600 points ($7.50). 1,200 points is the standard price for all Xbox Originals on the Marketplace -- a price many would say is far too high for Xbox games that could be bought for far cheaper at GameStop or on eBay. But at $7.50, this is a pretty decent price for a brilliant game, and you also get the benefit (and the drawbacks, like not getting any physical items) of owning a game digitally.
The price cut goes into effect tomorrow and will last a week, as with all three previous deals. It’s a shame none of these prices became permanent or sales like this don’t take place more often, but it’s been a nice ride while it lasted.
