Capcom Announces Monster Hunter G (Yes, G) For Wii

In a surprising, if Capcom-esque move, the company has announced a port of Monster Hunter G for Wii via the pages of Famitsu. First released in January 2005 for the PlayStation 2, MHG was an incremental upgrade to the original Monster Hunter from 2004 (seen above), adding G-Level Quests and a new weapon class. The Wii edition, to be released in Spring, will be an almost direct port: Control will use the Classic Controller exclusively, although minor upgrades such as a 16:9 widescreen mode and the ability to send items purchased from shops directly to your home will be added. Fees for online play, if any, have not yet been announced.
This port begs several questions: If MHG is slated for Spring, does that mean Monster Hunter 3 tri~ won’t be arriving until late in the year? Will there be a Wii port of MH2G as well? Will one of them come with an MH3 demo? Time will tell.
