When Capcom announced a port of the four year old Monster Hunter G for Wii last month, it was widely speculated that they were doing so to sell a Monster Hunter 3 tri~ demo; today, that notion was confirmed. When MHG launches on April 23, it will be available in two configurations, both bundled with a one-player playable MH3 demo: A regular edition for 3,990 yen ($45), and a "Starter Pack" for 5,240 yen ($57).

When MHG launches on April 23, it will be available in two configurations, both bundled with a one-player playable MH3 demo: A regular edition for 3,990 yen ($45), and a "Starter Pack" for 5,240 yen ($57).

The Starter Pack is limited to 90,000 units, and will come with an exclusive promo card for the new "Monster Hunter Hunting Cards" trading card game, in addition to an official Wii Classic Controller tricked out in navy blue. It may seem like an odd choice of pack-in, until one considers that MHG for Wii will only be playable with a Classic Controller -- no waggle augmentation is planned.

Capcom's press release today also carried the first official information about MHG's online play. It was revealed that a monthly fee will be incurred, but specific figures have not yet been announced. Monster Hunter Frontier for PC currently costs 1,400 yen ($16) per month; MHG's fees may be similar.
