New Final Fantasy XIII countdown promises a lot

Countdowns are starting to feel as though they're the norm for the gaming industry. Whether it's to announce a horror title like Siren or revealing more tantalizing information around Final Fantasy XIII, publishers are picking up the trend like it's going out of style.

If you're a fan of them, though, this is certainly a countdown worth remembering. Square Enix has started a 6+ day countdown on both their European and North American websites for FFXIII and both are set to expire on January 28.

Just what is it counting down to exactly? Well, according to a cryptic message by Square Enix, "a new vision will soon be revealed to the world." Still, we’re at a loss as to what this could mean.

We're hoping it'll be a nice taste of gameplay or a more definitive release schedule. Stay tuned for more information.
