Why are we concerning ourselves with sales? Last time I checked the only thing that effects our pocket books is the consumption of these video games. So why are you arguing over console sales?

Why are we concerning ourselves with sales? Last time I checked the only thing that effects our pocket books is the consumption of these video games. So why are you  arguing over console sales?

Consider this a post for the trolls.  I’m calling you fanboys out, and you can hate on me all you want because that’s all you do.  The name is “Don-Mitchell and the PSN ID is blip74″, so if you childish fanboys have the nerve, direct all your hate towards me. I’m going to set the record straight once and for all.

I’m a fan of the PS3, nowhere near a fanboy and can also be a harsh critic of the PS3 at times.  I feel you can’t be a true fan of anything if you don’t have any criticisms about your purchase and would like to see your product improve. I don’t own a 360 for several reasons, and all of them are personal ones. I refuse to pay for online, the system is ugly, the power brick takes up to much space, its too loud, the red ring of death, and most importantly the games. I don’t own a Wii because I am a hardcore gamer and what interests me most about the Wii can be done through computer emulation. Now there is a little information on my gaming preferences, so all you fanboys please attack me for my gaming preferences.

Now let’s find out why you care about console sales so much. We all know that the Wii is laughing at everybody with there comfortable lead and annual trips to the bank, but the Wii fanboys don’t comment, and probably don’t play their systems so I’m not addressing them. Its just the PS3 and Xbox 360 fanboys that are showing their true colors this generation, and being that they are the only true next-gen rivals they are the only ones in question anyway.

To the 360 fanboys, everything about your console is refutable, but the numbers. Everything with ones choice in a game and console is a personal opinion. Is that why you care so much about console sales? You want to try and say, “the 360 has the best games”, but that’s opinion. You say that “the PSN sucks and the only thing it offers is that its free.” That is also a matter of opinion. You say that the PS3 has no games and that is pure ignorance. The only facts are the RROD and the console sales. It sounds like you 360 fanboys are trying just as hard as the PS3 fanboys to justify their system and choice.

To the PS3 fanboys there are more facts represented on your console, but does it make your system better? The facts that are usually presented in your defense of your system are minor at best. I will list the ones that are irrefutable. The console supports bluetooth, wi-fi built in, it has Sixasis, and Killzone 2 is the best looking game to date period! There may be a few others, but believe there minor as well. Now PS3 fanboys there are features on the PS3 that are not on 360 and vice versa, but do the features and the minor facts mentioned make your sytem better? Your not leading in sales, and Killzone 2 is the only thing that is game related that truly shows the power of your system and everything else can be a matter of opinion. The online system is still lacking and the features and lack of features, and durability matter to some consumers but don’t concern all.

You are engaging in petty arguments that have nothing to do with gaming. Who cares who sells what? The only thing that concerns a true gamer is the games, and being that those are a matter of opinion you should just be a fan not a fanboy. The sales figures from any company aren’t putting any money in your pocket and the arguments you engage in are pointless and take away from valuable game time. What ever happened to articulate conversation and intelligent debates? Who cares about console sales?
