Older gamers fondly remember Atari, but for many Commodore 64 was equally loved. Commodore 64 games are now arriving on Nintendo's Wii Shop channel.

With its "Wii-kly Update" on WiiWare and Virtual Console releases Nintendo of America today announced that another old-school platform has finally been introduced to the Virtual Console service: Commodore 64. Kicking off the launch are three titles, including two martial arts games and one racing game.

The Last Ninja, International Karate and Pitstop II each go for 500 Wii Points ($5). These games are available now. Nintendo has been adding new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday.

In addition to the Commodore 64 games, Nintendo this week also released Hudson's Onslaught for WiiWare. The FPS title costs 1,000 Wii Points and puts you in the middle of a futuristic war between humans and insectoid aliens. Onslaught also offers multiplayer gameplay over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
