Midway Looking to Unload Mortal Kombat

Midway Games has been teetering on the brink. The publisher was forced by its bleak financial situation to file for bankruptcy and the only way it could still get Wheelman onto store shelves this month was by partnering with Ubisoft, effectively letting them do the publishing (although Midway will retain the rights to the IP).
Now, according to new court documents, it's been revealed that part of Midway's restructuring plan includes a sale of its Mortal Kombat franchise – the one true staple of its business. Another goal of the plan was to unload Wheelman, and the deal with Ubisoft essentially did just that, bringing in $497,500. The court documents also show that the company has set aside $3,755,000 in bonuses, to be split amongst Midway's executives for meeting goals laid out in the plan.
Where is nearly $4 million coming from if the company has no money? Unfortunately, Midway's laid off employees may not actually be paid the remainder of their accrued PTO (paid/personal time off), Kotaku has reported.
