Now you can download titles straight to the SD cards, plus more Final Fantasy content is coming soon.

At Nintendo CEO and President Satoru Iwata’s keynote for GDC, he unveiled Wii System Menu 4.0. Available now, this update includes the ability to use higher capacity SD cards, up to 32GB in size. Another feature is the ability to download content to the SD card and run Virtual Console titles off the card.

Also announced was the addition of new titles from Square Enix. For WiiWare, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (previously a Japanese cell-phone exclusive title) and My Life as a Darklord will be releasing. Additionally, Final Fantasy titles will be releasing on Virtual Console in Japan, with Final Fantasy I and IV confirmed for the U.S.

Finally, the Virtual Console is being expanded with the new "Virtual Console Arcade." A half dozen titles will be made available today, including Space Harrier, Mappy, The Return of Ishtar, Emeraldia, Solvalou, The Tower of Druaga, Gapius and Star Force.

Thanks to Joystiq for the tip.
