It's been rough going for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures since launching last year. While it initially attracted a large number of curious players, numbers have long since fallen off, resulting in servers being merged and huge losses for Funcom.

Now, in an effort to revive the flagging MMO, Funcom is offering a free trial for a period of "seven to fourteen days." This will give you the opportunity to experience the "brutal, savage and sexy" world of Conan.

Yes, sexy.

In any case, video president of sales and marketing Morten Larssen wrote in an open letter, "The time has finally come for us to open the flood gates. There is a world of gamers out there who have never played Age of Conan and we want them to experience what hundreds of thousands of gamers have before them. The game has matured tremendously since launch, and we feel confident that this is the time to launch a trial. Age of Conan is simply bigger and better than it ever was, and we want both new and previous players alike to experience that!"

Funcom goes on to list a number of new features, including new content, enhanced player vs player combat and other improvements. They've cut a deal with the recently revived FilePlanet to distribute the trial, which is where you'll get the fourteen days, so if you want to see the sexy world of Conan for yourself, go and check it out.
