A remake of the first Silent Hill is coming to the PS2, PSP and Wii, with a new soundtrack from Akira Yamaoka.

Konami announced today that the latest game in the Silent Hill series is in development. Titled Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, the game will be a remake of the first Silent Hill, where Harry Mason searches for his daughter Cheryl. Series composer Akira Yamaoka will provide a new soundtrack for the game as well.

"Silent Hill: Shattered Memories returns to its roots in this re-imagining of the original Silent Hill with the most interactive and frightening installment of the decade-old series," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment. "With a deep storyline, eerie music and a psych profile that watches its players and evolves to expose their innermost fears throughout the game, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is sure to evoke fear in both franchise newcomers and longtime survival horror fans."

The Wii version of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will allow players to use the Wii Remote to act as both a flashlight pointer and cell phone. The game will also feature a "psych profile" to alter the player experience depending on their gameplay choices. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will also release on PS2 and PSP in Fall 2009.
