MCV is reporting that Warner Bros. is likely to offer a buyout bid for Midway. The media conglomerate is apparently attracted to the publisher's larger franchises, like Mortal Kombat and Stranglehold.
"Warner is pretty confident that they will get Midway – which will be an immediate boost to their portfolio," said a source to MCV. "The deal isn't done yet. Midway is still open to offers from other potential buyers – but Warner looks to be favorite to wrap it up. They look ready to put the money on the table."
Midway would like for Warner Bros. to purchase the company whole for $30 million, but it may still sell off its various IPs and studios separately. If the $30 million price target is met, several key members of Midway would receive bonuses.
