Baidu Invades Online Game Market

Baidu will enter into cooperation agreement with more that one company, including one in Chengdu.

Chinese leading IT company Baidu (BIDU.Nasdaq) is going to online game market.

 

Recently, industry insiders revealed to us that Baidu was in secrect negotiation with online game companies, to discuss about the possibilities of cross operation. Yesterday, senior executives from Baidu confirmed the news, and said that Baidu was secrestly planning to invade online game market, with multiple game operating coming soon. According to previous information, Baidu was going to operate an online game with a Nasdaq listed  online game company. But as the information gathered, Baidu will enter into cooperation agreement with more that one company, including one in Chengdu.

 

In year 2007, the market value of Chinese online game was 12.8 billion RMB, as in the next 4-5 years, the market will keep growing  as a rate of over 20%. By 2011, the market will reach 40.1 billion RMB. It is the prospetive market attracts Baidu.

 

After C2C, IM, the business scope of Baidu expands this year.
