Capcom has divulged via its twitter page that the second of the company’s mystery E3 titles will not be a successor to Devil May Cry 4.
The tweet teasers: “Hot rumor bust of the day: Capcom E3 Mystery Title #2 is not — repeat, NOT — Devil May Cry 5. Now, what do you think it is?” Meanwhile, website Cubed3 has compiled a list of hints gathered thus far, including the fact the game is not a remake and will form part of an already established franchise. See below for the full scoop:
-The game is NOT Devil May Cry 5
-It’s an action game
-It’s from an established Capcom franchise
-It’s not a remake
-It’s being developed by Capcom of Japan
After putting on our thinking caps, we’d be inclined to place our bets on a new Onimusha title, though we’d love to see Dino Crisis rear its scaly head again after all these years. Finally, while Resident Evil has unequivocally taken a more action-orientated path as of late, a new entry in the series seems unlikely at this point.
E3 kicks off next week, so keep your eyes peeled for more info as it breaks.
