Wii Vitality Will Measure Your Blood Flow, Among Other Things

Ever since Nintendo revealed Wii Vitality at E3, it has been met with reactions ranging from curiosity to weirded out. Wherever you fall on the spectrum, many can't help but want to know more. New details have surfaced that the new peripheral will measure the inner workings of your body (more specifically, breathing) through blood flow from tiny sensors inside the device.
Although no software was announced with Wii Vitality at E3, in a recent Times Online interview, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata showed how the new device would interact with the Wii. The software was described as having a silhouette body on the screen, that would be filled with different colors of water. In the interview, Iwata's display showed blue, dark water indicating stress (he took his vitals before and after going to E3). Then he showed off his vitals for the current day, which were green and clearer, displaying a more relaxed state.
With details trickling in about Wii Vitality, it only seems to pique more interest in the peculiar device. It is unclear whether the software that was displayed in the interview was a demo of a new product, or just a demonstration of Wii Vitality. Hopefully, Nintendo will give us a few more details as we go down the rabbit hole that is Wii Vitality.
