Dated: Nov 14, 2009
On National Game Day (11.14.09), the new VGPA website and U.S. national membership-based association opened to video game players everywhere. VGPA [veg-puh] is dedicated to the gamers in the industry, not the game and software manufacturers.
It’s not about, “Da Bears,” it’s about, “Da Gamers!” VGPA, based in Chicago, started engaging the video game community today by offering an on-line centralized database of industry contacts. VGPA will soon boast the Exclusive VGPA Society, an on-line social community for association members and gamers.
Annual membership rates start at $25 (U.S.) for individual gamers which offers special industry promotions and giveaways, access to the on-line VGPA Society, recognition in the annual directory and more. The new on-line address is http:// www.VideoGamePlayers.ORG.
“The anticipation has been building and the new [veg-puh] is alive,” said JB Lee, President & Executive Director. “This is an opportunity for the fractured video game player community to come together as a group and be a part of a nationally recognized association. Association members will be included in the only national directory of video game players.”
To kick-off the grand opening, new member registrations in November will be automatically entered into a drawing to win an official VGPA t-shirt.
If you’d like more information about the VGPA or to schedule an interview, please send an e-mail to marketing@videogameplayers.org.
